Our company launched the commercial life thereof in 1989 as a family business with 4 partners, under the name of “ILGIN AKIN OTO KALORİFER VE OTO YEDEK PARCA İMALAT SANAYİ VE TİCARET LİMİTET ŞİRKETİ”; we changed our name as “AKPLAS ILGIN AKIN PLASTİK SAN. VE TİC. PLASTİK SAN. TIC. A.Ş” in 1994 and started to produce high density polyethylene (HDPE) sprinkler irrigation parts with a capacity of 100 tons.
Our company started to produce agricultural sprinkler irrigation pipes together with sprinkler irrigation spare parts in 1995.
Our company, AKPLAS, which started its production with 100 tons annually has a capacity of 40 tons per day as of 2004 provides the services thereof to all of our farmers thanks to more than 70 dealer network throughout Turkey.
AKPLAS, which meets 80% of irrigation pipes and spare parts need of PANKO BİRLİK KOOPERATİFLERİ (PANKO UNION COOPERATIVES) is the leader of the industry thanks to its 5-year warranty products thereof.
Our company, believing that TECHNOLOGY AND QUALITY ARE DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO EACH OTHER, renews and develops its machine park and professional staff each and every day.
AKPLAS, which makes manufacturing and sales of easy-to-use, unbreakable sprinkler and irrigation pipes and all spare parts which are resistant to impact and pressure, also strives to offer ergonomic and economical products to our farmers.
Our company employs 150 people on a 4.000 m2 closed area and 16.500 m2 open area in addition to 14 injection machines and 12 extrusion machines.
Our company’s new title is AKPLAS PLASTİK SAN. TİC. PLASTİK SAN. TİC. A.Ş which was changed on 14 June 2007.
On 6 November 2007, AKPLAS PLASTİK SAN. TIC. A.Ş continues its production.
Our company started production on 02.01.2019, in our new factory operating on an area of 12200 m² and a total area of 76800 m² located opposite the Zaferiye district of Konya's Ilgın district with 18 extruders and 23 injection machines.
Sprinkler irrigation pipes withstand 6 atm pressure but all elements of the system may not work under this pressure. For example, the number of sprinklers used or the sprinkle flow rate can damage the sprinkler operation under this pressure. As such, sprinkler irrigation systems should be operated at 2-3 bar levels.
Polyethylenes defined with petrochemical development are classified according to their density LDPE/Low Density Polyethylene, MDPE/Medium Density Polyethylene and HDPE/High Density Polyethylene. High Density Polyethylenes have more strength than others. MRS (Minimum Required Strength) value has been calculated as 8 for MDPE and 10 for HDPE products. This allows for more fluid to pass through due to a higher strength at lower wall thickness for HDPE. MDPE products, on the other hand, provide advantages in cracks and splitting caused by external impacts with a larger wall thickness value.
